Anyway, since HTML is related to SGML, here goes: does someone know
of a read-only browser for HTML documents ? What I need is
something in PD or shareware that takes a HTML doc ( extension
.html ) and presents it in a window; if a link is activated, the
viewer forks to present this new document or presents it in the
same window.

You just pretty much described NCSA Mosaic (ftp to ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu
in /Mosaic).

This browser would be similar to the XMosaic product
from NCSA but without all the bells and whistles.

Ah. Well, you could place masking tape over where the menubar shows
up on the screen…

I finally have put Coherent to work !

MWC wasnt helpful enough: after a new set of disks to solve
a continuous reboot when trying to install ( which BTW did the
same thing ) MWC never replied to my questions again.

I suppose living in Europe is a disadvantage…

Anyway, I was trying to install 4.0.1A and 4.0.1R65 on a
386 clone with 8meg RAM, AMI BIOS and Opti chipset.
I solved the problem by buying a 486 motherboard which
has AMI BIOS and OPTI Chipset.
What was the problem with the first board ? Dont know….

Coh installed fine in the new motherboard though I had to
buy a new keyboard to have virtual consoles.

Thanx MWC (NOT!)

Hi there!:

I’m building a multimedia documental database using Oracle 6.0
as the support for data files, document archival and management
of distribution of data. Motif is being used as the interface.

I’m doing this project on an IBM RS6000 as a part of a collaboration
of LNEC ( the portuguese National Engineering Laboratory ) in a
EEC project called Alpha DIDO ( Distributed Intelligent Data Operation ).

The database will have a natural multilingual interface for queries
and makes heavy use of terminologies, thesaurus and classification methods
for query expansion, restriction, etc.

The database will be able to store documents in any format ( MPEG, GIF,
Postscript, etc ) delegating the handling/editing of these file formats
on client programs: info about them is stored with the document. We’re
thinking of relying heavily on SGML.

I’d be interested in swapping info/ideas/solutions/tips/code with people
working/having worked on similar projects.

E-mail me if you’re interested.

I have only found one issue of Wired here in Portugal
so I will have to subscribe.

Can someone give me the e-mail address for subscriptions ?
BTW how many issues are out ? I think I have number one, the
one with Bruce Sterling babbling about virtual war…

Hope you can help me.
