Some underrated and forgotten bands from the 80s playing
plain melodic 4×4 rock n roll songs. Where did it all go?

Well, it seems that there actually were some posts
during the previous week. But the spillover effect
really took its toll this past week.

http://mv.asterisco.pt/cat.cgi?Next%20Week

A single week out of office (practically) had as
its result a whole workload during this week and no
energy available for posting (compounded with three
aditional evenings taken over with the Police concert,
my niece coming over and the Founders Dinner)

The net results from 2 weeks ago:

Cult Horror Favourites

I’ve always been a horror movie/book fan, but more
so a few years back. I have a whole bunch of Stephen
Kink books and some cult DVDs (American Werewolf in
London anyone?) but its not like I actively search
or add to my wishlist this type of stuff.

But after a discussion a few days ago with some friends
about B series movies (like Atack of the Killer Tomatoes),
I was reminded of 2 items that I had to search for and
earmark for future acquisition.

The Groovie Ghoulies
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groovie_Goolies

My favorite cartoons on Saturday TV, back in the
late 70s, early 80s. I was about 12 and the penchant
for geeky stuff already shown through.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095444/

A hilarious horror movie from the middle 80s. I remember
seeing it on TV and getting hooked both on the inane scenes
and the theme song.

Its not often that you find an album with 5 hit singles
and 5 videoclips taken out of it. “Bridge of Spies” by
T’Pau is one of the few examples. With beautiful songs and
a redhead singing them, its a must.

These are the 5 videos:

Plus you also have the live promo for “Sex Talk”:

Its almost the complete album right there.
Oh, and guess what year it was released? You bet, 1987…
