SOFEA and the Future Web Development Framework

Subject: SOFEA and the Future Web Development Framework

“SOFEA is an architectural style which in its definition
criticizes (and manages to make a very good definition of)
the current web frameworks, and (as they say) “none of them
satisfies”.

http://unclescript.blogspot.com/2007/11/coming-frameworks-sofea-jda-squirrel.html

This is what I have been talking about in my posts about a
future web framework. The guys that are proposing SOFEA make
a very good technical argument in their paper and presentation.

http://wisdomofganesh.blogspot.com/2007/10/life-above-service-tier.html

If you pay particular attention to page 26 in the paper (about
how the Service Oriented Front-End Architecture model should work)
you will see that it is precisely what I’ve been talking about.

David Coffey also seems to have come to the same conclusions. And,
like me, that it all converges into Javascript. He’s building Triad,
a Javascript MVC framework.

Codebits is Over

Last day of the SAPO Codebits event. A very nice event
overall and a good time. It was a relief to leave the
office for a few days and leave the cio/egovernment
mindframe and just speak geek with friends and acquaintances.

The ideas/hacks/programming contest could have had lots
more creativity and lots more code, but it was cool anyway.

Out of the nearly 50 contestants, I’d invest in 3 of
them:

– 4, Superlative Conspiracy
– 17, Bookworms
– 31, Estante

So if any of you guys are reading this, wish to go forward
and are looking for mentoring/financing, send an email.

Local Mac Whining

Confirming the long know relationship between being a
Mac fan boy and being a whiner, compounded with the
traditional portuguese attitude of bickering negatively
over the accessory and forgetting the important, portuguese
Mac fanboys/whiners are all in a roar over small orthographic
and translation errors at the recently opened local version
of the Apple store. Yes, that’s right, now they cant whine
over not having a portuguese version; they needed something
new to complain about…

Next up: Steve Jobs doesnt eat pasteis de Belem…
Oh, the tragedy!..
