This man just cracks me up LOL! :-)

Only The Nuge to put a buffalo onstage…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COjwDioDscc

They dont make them like this anymore. Ted rips
on the guitar and Tommy Aldridge on the drums (Marc
Mendoza is on the bass, but he’s just the fruit
vendor of the week..)

I guess this one is going on my wishlist:

PS – Actually Tommy Aldridge is on the drums on the album; on the
DVD (and the YouTube link) its Tommy Cluefentos

The Social Contract

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Social_Contract

This (the book by Rousseau, not the article) is the
worst piece of colectivist crap that I have ever read.

http://www.constitution.org/jjr/socon_02.htm#005

“The social treaty has for its end the preservation
of the contracting parties. He who wills the end wills
the means also, and the means must involve some risks,
and even some losses. He who wishes to preserve his life
at others’ expense should also, when it is necessary, be
ready to give it up for their sake. Furthermore, the citizen
is no longer the judge of the dangers to which the law-desires
him to expose himself; and when the prince says to him: “It
is expedient for the State that you should die,” he ought to
die, because it is only on that condition that he has been
living in security up to the present, and because his life
is no longer a mere bounty of nature, but a gift made
conditionally by the State.”

Exsqueeze me?!?! My *life* is a gift of the State? And
when it is expedient for the State that I should die, since
(admiteddly) my life is “preserved” by society, I should
gladly die?

Someone should have shot the bastard. I’m sure he would
have died gladly and given up is life for everyone’s sake.

OOXML Followup

Regarding today’s meeting of the Portuguese CT on
OOXML, I’ll let others fill you in on the details.

Just a quick note to all the doomsayers, the usual
I-blog-but-dont-do-jackshit crowd: I didnt feel as
lonely as last time and, in the words of Yogi Berra,
it aint over till the fat lady sings… So forget all
about the ridiculous stuff like lack of chairs (when
you blab on about it, you just look as ridiculous as
the original gaffer); start dealing with the serious
issues because there will definitely be more chairs
around next time.

Perfect Day – BBC Promo, Several Artists
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNoBQn4BLMU

“Just a perfect day
You make me forget myself
I thought I was someone else
Someone good…”

I dont know why but this song reminds me of my
niece Hanna and her mother’s sad and early death.
Perhaps its the grief of days now lost, the struggle
that some days are and the promise of days to come.

I wish my sister was here to listen to her baby girl
learning to say “borboleta”…

The Right Way for Web Development

http://wicket.sourceforge.net/

These guys have it ..almost.. right…

———————————-
Separation of Concerns
Wicket does not mix markup with Java code and adds
no special syntax to your markup files.

<span wicket:id=”message”>Message goes here</span&>

public HelloWorld()
{
add(new Label(“message”, “Hello World!”));
}
———————————-

Now if only they didnt use XML namespaces for the
wicket: namespace (there’s no need, id could be used
directly) and there was no Java (Javascript could be
used to do asynchronous server requests, probably REST,
to get the data, probably JSON), this would be the
perfect thing.
