I could go mental/intellectual on you and quote something
intelligent out of AFI’s Top Movie Quotes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_100_Years…_100_Movie_Quotes

Instead I’ll just state the 3 lines that I most easily
remember and that I most like:

“Go ahead, make my day” – Clint “Dirty Harry” Eastwood
“You talkin’ to me?” – Robert “Taxi Driver” DeNiro
“I love the smell of napalm in the morning” – Apocalypse Now

The number of links in these pages is small but it
sure is growing everyday…

Although I have bookmarked it, somehow jslibs is missing;
probably bookmarked in a browser without the delicious extension.

Here it is anyhow:

Canadian Guitar Summit

A bit more than 20 years ago, back in 1986, more
dedicated than today to guitar playing, I started
buying Guitar Player magazine. I learned a lot not
only from the lessons in it and from the musicians
interviewed but also from the plastic records that
came embedded in it*.

One of these plastic records was from a gathering
of guitar players called Canadian Guitar Summit.

The Canadian Guitar Summit got together just to make
this song and this recording, called “Beyond Borders”,
and was composed of Alex Lifeson from Rush, a progressive
rock band, Rik Emmet from Triumph, a hard rock band, Ed
Bickert, a jazz player, and Liona Boyd, a classical guitar
player. All Canadian of course…

The resulting song/recording more than being beyond
borders, is beyond description. A beautiful piece of
music.

* – I first heard Steve Vai’s Blue Powder, another beautiful
piece of music, through the same plastic records…

Yes, 20+ years ago, while you were all listening to Duran
Duran and Bryan Adams…
